Carved dark blue mug

I threw this mug from 1.25 pounds of stoneware clay. This mug has a straight and simple profile which I then dotted with indentations around its base. The handle is pulled from a blank of clay I attached to the body once the piece is in the leather hard stage. The glazes I use result in dark gray and hues of blues.

The mugs from this batch are around 3.5" to 4" in height. Their bases are also 3.5" to 4" in diameter. They hold between 12 and 14 ounces of liquids when filled to the brim. 

This piece is food safe, dishwasher safe, and microwave safe.
