Antique grays and blues mug

I threw this mug from 1.25 pounds of stoneware clay. I kept its profile straight but carved a series of fluted lines around its base for textural interest. The handle is pulled from a blank of clay I attached to the body once the piece is in the leather hard stage. The glazes I used for this mug were a happy accident. I love the old this mug feels. 

The mugs from this batch are around 3.5" to 4" in height. Their bases are also 3.5" to 4" in diameter. They hold between 12 and 14 ounces of liquids when filled to the brim. 

This piece is food safe, dishwasher safe, and microwave safe.
