White tea mug

I threw this mug from 1.25 pounds of stoneware clay. This mug has a clean, straight profile that is enhanced by the alternating fluting lines. The handle is pulled from a blank of clay I attached to the body once the piece is in the leather hard stage. The glazes I layered on this mug form a bitonal pattern that is blooming with microcrystals. 

The mugs from this batch are around 3.5" to 4" in height. Their bases are also 3.5" to 4" in diameter. They hold between 12 and 14 ounces of liquids when filled to the brim. 

This piece is food safe, dishwasher safe, and microwave safe.
