White tea mug

I threw this mug from 1.25 pounds of stoneware clay. I kept the profile straight but I carved fluted lines around its base. The handle is pulled from a blank of clay I attached to the body once the piece is in the leather hard stage. The glazes I used for this create a bitonal waves across the mug. 

The mugs from this batch are around 3.5" to 4" in height. Their bases are also 3.5" to 4" in diameter. They hold between 12 and 14 ounces of liquids when filled to the brim. 

This piece is food safe, dishwasher safe, and microwave safe.
